We thought for sure that when we took Sheba in to the vet last Monday, there was a good possibility that we would be taking an empty cat carrier home. Thankfully, that wasn’t the case…this time. We got her a reprieve in the form of a steroid shot. We were told this was only a stopgap, but I’m grateful for whatever more time we have with her.

I found out that a book I’ve been waiting to be published for a long time is now available! It’s titled “When My Baby Dreams” by Adele Enersen. I will report more on that after I get my copy.

I know the above isn’t much of a post, but the purpose of this whole Monday blog thing is to reflect on the previous week and pick out only the positive stuff. There is a whole world of things/people/etc to be thankful for and positive about every single day. Waking up to a new day is one. Seeing the sunshine, drinking coffee, talking to friends…the list goes on. What I want to do though is not just a “diary” type of thing… “Dear Diary, I started the day as usual with my coffee and trying to get my eyes to open up on their own. Then I brushed my teeth and got dressed. Then I emptied the cat box.” My readership would go from the possible 5 down to maybe 1 if I did that sort of thing. The point is to focus on picking 1 or 2 real positives apart from the everyday life that we are to give thanks for as a matter of course. For the Christian, anyway. We are told to “pray, praise and give thanks” for everything. Which I try to do. But some days, the only thing I can think of to be grateful for is that the day is finally OVER and I don’t have to deal with it anymore. This blog will force me to come up with something positive in a one week period beyond the everyday.
I leave you with something to ponder:
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
