If
my legs looked like Betty Grable’s, I’d still be showing them. Also, my hips
would have to look like hers.
For
a very brief time in my life, I had a fairly good figure and enjoyed wearing
dresses. But time, motherhood and arthritis put an end to that. I didn’t like
the way I looked in dresses or skirts. I still had a few dresses for special
occasions or church, but I wasn’t happy with the way I looked. After I had my
first knee replacement I tried long skirts for quite a while, but the hips
still insisted on being the star attraction. I got rid of the dresses and kept
with the long skirts. Still hated the way I looked. A couple months ago I
finally got rid of the long skirts.
I
think I look OK in nice slacks, so that’s what I wear for the times I need to
dress up a bit. Otherwise, it’s jeans. As far as shorts go, I got rid of those
some time ago. A woman of my age should NOT go out in public in shorts. I do
enjoy wearing capris in the summer. Those go past my scarred knees and I think
they look OK.
So
no more gams for grandma! The showing of the shins is as far as I go!
