Explain This To Me In Small Words

I got this from an article on Bored Panda. These are answers to some of the questions I’ve always asked myself. Good article. Check out the full post on Bored Panda.

How Can Large Chains (Costco, Target, Walmart, Etc) Produce Store Brand Versions Of Nearly Every Product Imaginable While Industry Manufacturers Only Really Produce A Single Type Of Item?

Very simple explanation. Costco doesn’t “make” whiskey. It buys from Big Name Booze Company (BNBC). They pay a bit more than it costs BNBC per bottle, but buys a HUGE amount. There are all sorts of legal stuff to do this. Then Costco slaps their own label on the bottle and sells it for a bit less than BNBC sells it in the stores. Both companies make money. This is done with other products and the other stores do this as well. My parents were ALWAYS of the “buy the name brand, it’s better” way of thinking. I’m always for a bargain, though. My dad insisted on Listerine. I got him one small bottle of it, then when it was getting low, I’d refill it with Walmart brand mouthwash. He never knew the difference.

Do Donated Organs Age According To The Donor´s Age Or Do They Adapt To The Age Of The New Body?

I always wondered about this. There are a lot of factors at play, but basically, they age according to the donor. If you take an organ from an older person and put it in a younger person, depending on the health of the organ, it will age according to the donor’s age. If the organ was in really good health and condition, and if the recipient takes good care of themselves, it will last a pretty long time. I highly doubt that anyone would want any of my organs when I’m finished with them.

What's The Difference Between The Shiny And Dull Side Of Aluminum Foil? Besides The Obvious Shininess/Dullness

When they're flattening the material with rollers, it eventually gets so thin that passing it through the rollers on its own would tear the material. To solve this, they pass 2 layers through the rollers at the same time.

The shiny side of the foil is the side that was facing the rollers, and the dull side is the side that was facing the 2nd sheet. No significant difference for the purpose of cooking. I would debate this in my mind A LOT when I first started using foil in cooking/baking. I was glad to know it didn’t make a difference.
