I’ve really been struggling for blog fodder lately, so decided to just start babbling and see what happens. I’ve been blogging for almost 20 years and I think I may need a little vacation…
When’s the last time you made paper chains for the Christmas tree? I remember doing these to decorate the classroom in elementary school. It’s a tad late now because I’ve got so many irons in the fire, but I really would like to do this next year. I’ve never wanted to string popcorn. I’d rather eat it. With extra butter.
I miss being in a church with a large congregation with a lot of kids. I miss the Christmas program where the kids would all learn various Bible passages telling the story of the birth of Jesus. I miss having a choir.
I was in 5th grade when the Rudolph cartoon was shown. I felt a definite kinship with the misfit toys.
I was in 6th grade when the Charlie Brown Christmas was shown. I was enthralled by the fact that Linus was allowed to quote scripture. I loved the whole show. I still do.
I was in 7th grade when the Grinch was shown. I had always been a big fan of Dr. Seuss books and seeing this one brought to life was amazing.
Those 3 programs were integral to the season.
Sorry this is so short. That’s about all I’m up to this week.
