Fowl Words

Eggbert Chickovsky was a handsome bird. He was popular in high school and a real chick magnet. The gals would flock around him, which ruffled the feathers of all the guys. But he couldn’t find that special someone that he wanted to spend his life with. For a while he dated a foreign exchange gal by the name of Yolko, but it just didn’t work out. Then he met…

Hennifer Cluck (Of the Vermont Clucks. Very wealthy flock). One look was all it took for Eggbert to fall hard. But not TOO hard. After a rather hasty courtship they married and went to roost in their own little coop with a white picket fence. But as time passed, they had no little chicks of their own. Instead of being broody, Hennifer was moody. Then one wonderful day it happened…

Shelly was laid! (No jokes, please. This is serious stuff!) Poor Hennifer almost died during the process. I mean, look at the size of that egg! But all was well and Shelly was everything that Hennifer and Eggbert could want in an offspring.

Shelly was a happy little gal, but seemed to prefer being alone instead of playing with the other chicks. She couldn’t seem to come out of her shell and join them. She spent most of her time sitting on a wall, which caused her parents a lot of anxiety.

Time went by and the little family was content. Until one day they got a new neighbor next door…
