Would You Rather… part 1

Somehow I came into possession of a card game “Would You Rather” and thought it might be a fun thing for dinner/game night with our Bible study group. The box was sealed so I couldn’t really look through the cards.

I finally took the time to look through all of the cards. There were 23 cards with 4 questions on each side. That’s 184 questions. I figured there had to be some worth doing in a game. And I was right. There were a few…VERY few. Most were Junior High stupid humor, Junior High gross humor or some stuff that I DQ’d immediately. I decided this would NOT be a game for our group but just might provide me with some blog fodder. So at great personal cost, dear readers, I decided to take the acceptable questions and spread them out in blogs. You’re welcome. The 2 choices are all preceded by “would you rather”, which I will abbreviate to WYR.

WYR – have a mini golf course backyard, OR an air hockey dinner table?

Tough choice. Both are fun. But for practical purposes, I guess an air hockey dinner table would be better. At meal times all you have to do is put a plywood cover on top and a table cloth.

WYR – when sick, vomit silver dollars, OR gummy bears?

Obviously the choice is silver dollars! Yeah, you’d have to wash them off, but if you’re gonna hurl, why not make some money at it?

WYR – have a battle with 500 living origami creatures, OR the current contents of your refrigerator?

While there have been times when the contents of the fridge have become sentient, and maybe battle worthy, there is the slop factor to deal with. I’d rather fight the paper foes. You have to look out for paper cuts for sure, but a big pair of scissors in one hand and a Bic lighter in the other would probably work well.

WYR – change your first name to its backward spelling, OR your last name?

My first name would either be Yhtorod or Tod. Tod is doable, but I don’t love it. Last name would be Rednib. I like that.

WYR – have retractable ice skate blades on the bottoms of your feet, OR hair that can grow and turn into earmuffs when it’s cold?

Ice skates would be SO COOL! And you wouldn’t have to worry about trying to tie them on tight enough. If you’re cold, just wear a hat!

WYR – have feet with retractable rollerblades, OR have flip-out Swiss army knife items for fingernails?

Now this is another tough choice. Rollerblades would be super cool too. But the Swiss army items could come in real handy in an emergency. I guess I’d take the ice skates from the first one and the knife blades from the second.

What would YOUR choice be??

Jaunts in Chico

I love going to Chico for little jaunts. When it’s my friend Paula and I, we always have lunch somewhere and then hit Costco and Winco. The last time we went, we had lunch at Panera. I had a new sandwich, Croque Monsieur Croissant. Ham, provolone and asiago cheeses, and caramelized onion and gruyere spread on croissant toast. Excellent! And of course, it’s a limited item, so get it now while you can. I usually get a soft drink with my meal, but for some reason, this was the first time I noticed that they had iced coffee available! Score! I could add as much sugar and creamer as I wanted! When we were ready to leave I got another to take with me. Along with Costco and Winco, we went to Nothing Bundt Cakes. Fair warning! Dangerously delicious! They’re on the pricey side, but OMG are they awesome. Paula had a little store bag that if you use, you can buy 3 of their bundtlets and get one free. So of course we did that. I chose a s’mores and a carrot and Marv and I split them.

When Marv and I go to Chico for Costco, we always get the hot dog and drink combo. Tasty and you can NOT beat the price. If we’re in Chico for something else, we almost always go to Barnes & Noble for a Starbucks coffee. Since I’m a B&N member, I get a discount on the drinks. I used to get a Java Chip Frappuccino, but they’ve discontinued it. So the last couple times I got the Mocha Cookie Crumble Frappuccino. The most recent time I got a Caramel Ribbon Crunch. THAT is my new favorite!

One time before going to B&N we stopped to look around in Cost Plus World Market. I love looking at all the cool stuff and would love to max out a credit card there. I did find a very cute Maneki Neko cup (pictured above). They had them all different sizes including a teapot one. I settled for one of the smaller ones. They also had an AMAZING beaded table runner with Maneki Nekos (picture below). I REALLY wanted it, but it was pricey and I truly couldn’t think of a place to put it. Our table is rarely clear enough to eat at, let alone have a fancy runner on. *sigh*

We also stopped at Tractor Supply so Marv could look at their Carhartt shirts. While he was doing that, I looked through their display of miniature farm animals, hoping to find a little cat or two for my little Zen Garden that I have. No cats, but they had some very cute tiny tractors, backhoes, etc. I thought that would be so much fun to have a farm themed Zen Garden, but they were just a bit too big.

So, what do YOU all do for fun?

How Many Times Can You Watch That?!?

I read an article that listed movies that are rewatchable time and time again. Some of the movies on the list I’ve never seen. Others were good movies that I really enjoyed, but don’t particularly need to see more than a couple of times. The first three here were on the list that I agreed with. The rest are the ones I have added in no particular order. There are a lot more, but I’ve taken up enough of your time…

Month Python and the Holy Grail – “Run away! Run away!”

Rocky Horror Picture Show – “Let’s do the Time Warp again!”

Gosford Manor – VERY British. Have to watch it with CC on.

The Wrong Box – The scene with Peter Seller and ALL THOSE CATS!

Cold Comfort Farm – “I saw something nasty in the wood shed!”

Key Largo/Casablanca/Maltese Falcon – Bogart at his best

Bell, Book and Candle/Harvey/Rear Window and a bunch more of Jimmy Stewart

Clue – “Flames…flames on the side of my head…heaving, breathing, flames…”

Zorro the Gay Blade – Awesome from beginning to end!

Real Genius – ALL THAT POPCORN!!!

The Trouble With Harry – You can’t keep a good man down…or buried, either.

Knives Out – Daniel Craig was BRILLIANT in this!

Charade – My favorite Audrey Hepburn movie

The Point – HARRY NILSSON SONGS!!!

So…what are YOUR faves?
