AKA – No, I’m not addicted to my phone!
I admit that I don’t care that I don’t wear a watch anymore. Even if I don’t have my phone on me, or it’s not handy, all I have to do is ask, “What time is it?” and SOMEONE nearby will look at their phone and tell me.
In the past, I would make sure I had a book with me whenever I went out of the house. Mainly for doctor appointments, but on other occasions also. I couldn’t stand the idea of being idle without a book to pass the time. And now, I have a LOT of doctor appointments, but I realized with shock recently that I no longer cared if I had a book on me or not.
I had my phone. Games. Internet access and the vast playground open to me. I still prefer a book, especially at the doctor’s office when I’m waiting for the doctor to “be with me in just a minute!” And the time goes by… Even if I was in my undies on the table with one of those cute fashionable paper gowns on, I would usually have a book with me. No so much anymore. And I find that sad.
Not gonna give up my books though…
