Going WAY out on a limb…

I love some of the “personality tests” that show up on the internet. I enjoy taking them and reading the results that tell me all about myself and whether or not I should be committed…

I did one several years ago that I just loved and wish I could erase what I wrote and take it again and see if I get a different story. I posted it, but got very little feedback. I would like to put the “rules” out again and see if any of you would like to do this. I know it sounds like homework, and that’s basically what it is. But I am truly interested in what others might say. I think this would be an excellent creative writing prompt for school. I’m not going to say what the various things in the test mean, because in my mind it’s all a bunch of crap. If you do this test, and really want to know the supposed results, I will give the link.

I would absolutely LOVE it if anyone else takes this challenge and messages me what their take on this is. If you’d agree, I could post it on my blog and give full credit where due. Or make it anonymous. Or not post it at all. I just want to see what my readers think. I will also post my response from years ago. I don’t want to do it now and influence anyone.

Here is the set-up – takes notes as you go – give as much detail as you’d like

Close your eyes and clear your mind. Picture yourself in a desert – vast and empty. Now picture a cube in your desert. In as much detail as you can, describe the cube. How big is the cube? Is it embedded in the sand, on the surface, floating or moving around? Is the cube solid, or hollow?

You have a desert and a cube. Now there is a ladder. Where is it in respect to the cube? Above, bellow, against? Now describe the ladder. Tall, short, old, new? What’s it made of? As you look at the ladder, a horse appears.

Describe the horse. Is it near or far from the cube? Is it standing or moving? If moving, which way is it moving? What does it look like?

You now see flowers in your desert. Where are they growing? How many? Color? Healthy or wilting?

There is a thunderstorm over the desert. Where is it? Far away, close, near any of the previously mentioned things? Does it affect your picture or anything in it? What kind of storm? Is it windy?

Haphazard Miscellany – February 2025

Flea Market Findings

Angry Toaster

I doubt that I would get this, but it sure would make breakfast more fun if you had small kids.

Cat Purse

DEFINITELY would get this. It doesn’t look to be big enough for much of anything, but sure would be fun.

Door Knocker

YES YES YES!!

Oh Deer

Wouldn’t get this, but think how much fun you’d have dressing it up for holidays!!

Hippo Table

I’ve seen one like this a couple of times before, but this one is different. More rustic. I’d probably set it against a wall somewhere. Don’t know if the lily pads come with it, but that would look good along with some duckies and froggies, huh?

Valkyries Horse

This looks like the horse in the Bugs Bunny cartoon where Bugs is dressed like Brünnhilde. I would LOVE to have this ONLY if I could find an appropriate rider for it.

Pig Doorknob Assembly

Honestly can’t imagine where I would put this, but IT’S SO COOL!!!!

Random Thought:

A cross between a male zebra and a female horse is called a 'zorse', and a cross between a female zebra and a male horse is called a 'zonkey'

It’s All About Control

I saw a neat meme the other day on FB and thought it had some very good points to focus on for your life. It was about what you CAN and CANNOT control. We are so bombarded by things in this world. It’s a good idea to set boundaries.

Things I CAN control:

My – attitude

          actions

          thoughts

          words

          boundaries

          efforts

          choices

How I –   spend my time

                treat myself

                treat others

Who I choose to spend my time with

Things I CANNOT control:

The past

The future

Other people’s mistakes

What other people do/say

How others react

What other people think/feel

Other people’s happiness

World problems

I’m sure there are other things that can go on both these list. This is just a starting point.

Here are some of my PERSONAL control efforts, along with the ones above.

I have a strong faith base that I cling to daily.

Spending time in nature. Just sitting and enjoying God’s creation.

Trying to put more positives in my brain than negatives. It’s SO easy to fall into the negative abyss on social media and the news. Take breaks from that. I have tons of positive/funny Instagram pages and sites on the Internet that I love looking at.

Crafting.

I wish I could say “eating healthy” is on the list, but let’s face it…I’m a junk food junkie…

And that being said…STAY OFF THE BATHROOM SCALE!!!
