I love some of the “personality tests” that show up on the internet. I enjoy taking them and reading the results that tell me all about myself and whether or not I should be committed…
I did one several years ago that I just loved and wish I could erase what I wrote and take it again and see if I get a different story. I posted it, but got very little feedback. I would like to put the “rules” out again and see if any of you would like to do this. I know it sounds like homework, and that’s basically what it is. But I am truly interested in what others might say. I think this would be an excellent creative writing prompt for school. I’m not going to say what the various things in the test mean, because in my mind it’s all a bunch of crap. If you do this test, and really want to know the supposed results, I will give the link.
I would absolutely LOVE it if anyone else takes this challenge and messages me what their take on this is. If you’d agree, I could post it on my blog and give full credit where due. Or make it anonymous. Or not post it at all. I just want to see what my readers think. I will also post my response from years ago. I don’t want to do it now and influence anyone.
Here is the set-up – takes notes as you go – give as much detail as you’d like
Close your eyes and clear your mind. Picture yourself in a desert – vast and empty. Now picture a cube in your desert. In as much detail as you can, describe the cube. How big is the cube? Is it embedded in the sand, on the surface, floating or moving around? Is the cube solid, or hollow?
You have a desert and a cube. Now there is a ladder. Where is it in respect to the cube? Above, bellow, against? Now describe the ladder. Tall, short, old, new? What’s it made of? As you look at the ladder, a horse appears.
Describe the horse. Is it near or far from the cube? Is it standing or moving? If moving, which way is it moving? What does it look like?
You now see flowers in your desert. Where are they growing? How many? Color? Healthy or wilting?
There is a thunderstorm over the desert. Where is it? Far away, close, near any of the previously mentioned things? Does it affect your picture or anything in it? What kind of storm? Is it windy?
