You may not have ever considered what the difference is between crows and ravens. You may not have even cared. You may have even referred to them as interchangeable. YOU WERE WRONG!! I will now educate you… (this WILL be on the test)
Yes, they may look alike at first glance, as they are both black. But they would be highly insulted if you got them wrong…
Both are highly intelligent. Both can talk. THEY BOTH WILL STEAL FROM YOU!! So keep an eye on your shiny trinkets…no one wants to lose their trinkets…
Ravens are bigger. Crows are smaller
Ravens are somewhat scruffy. Crows are sleek.
Ravens are loners. Crows are sociable.
Ravens make a gurgling croak. Crows are the ones who say “Caw.”
If you point out how ugly a raven sounds, he will DEFINITELY steal your trinkets!
Since crows are sociable, they may gang up to steal your trinkets.
Either way: KEEP YOUR EYE ON YOUR TRINKETS!!
Something else they have in common. If you leave food and trinkets for them on a regular basis, they just may bring you trinkets in return. Probably not the original ones they stole, but something else. Maybe they steal from each other and you might receive stolen property. Better to hide what they bring you right away. You don’t want to risk your neighbor seeing their car keys on your deck railing and accusing you of stealing them…
So there ya go. I don’t know why Poe was so rattled by the Raven he wrote about. Maybe if he’d offered it some sunflower seeds or a shiny coin it would’ve have said something a bit more positive than “Nevermore.”
BTW…if you REALLY want to know all the differences, Google it. I’m just having fun here…
